Shirantha is a seasoned banking and finance professional with over 20 years of experience in corporate banking, credit risk management, lending, and business development. He has successfully managed large credit portfolios, structured complex financing solutions, and driven sustainable business growth while maintaining strong risk management standards.

As Head of Credit at Commercial Bank of Maldives (2019–2023), he led the Bank’s credit function, overseeing credit strategy, portfolio growth, and governance. He played a key role in expanding the lending portfolio through major corporate, syndicated, and project financing transactions while strengthening credit risk frameworks.

Having worked across Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and New Zealand, Shirantha brings extensive leadership, commercial, and credit expertise. He is recognized for building high-performing teams, enhancing governance practices, and delivering sustainable value to organizations and their customers.

Qualifications Shirantha holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cardiff Metropolitan University, United Kingdom, and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia). He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA, CGMA), United Kingdom. His professional banking credentials include a Diploma in Banking & Finance and a Diploma in Credit Management from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, together with a Certificate in Banking Finance from the IFS School of Finance, United Kingdom.
