Vikum Welegedera is a seasoned banking and financial services professional with over 20 years of experience across Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and the Solomon Islands, covering the banking, finance, insurance, and IT sectors. Throughout his career, he has built strong expertise in banking operations, customer service excellence, sales and marketing, product development, branding, and digital transformation initiatives aligned with modern banking requirements.

He is highly recognized for driving operational improvements, enhancing customer experience, and leading digitalisation and process automation initiatives that have strengthened service delivery across both branch and digital banking channels. Vikum has also played a key role in major banking system implementations, including serving as a core project team member for the successful ATS system rollout in the Solomon Islands, ensuring operational readiness, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory alignment.

In addition to his operational and strategic expertise, he has successfully contributed to the design and launch of innovative financial products that improved customer engagement and business growth.
